Across the country, progressives are out in full force to voice anger at conservative efforts to destroy Medicare and Medicaid in favor of tax breaks for billionaires.

Medicare has become the cornerstone of senior health care for decades – guarantee for those who have paid into it for years. Additionally, Medicaid has been a literal live saver for millions of low-income children, seniors with long-term care and those with disabilities who have nowhere else to turn. Now is not the time to privatize or gut benefits; rather we must continue to protect and preserve these crucial programs, ensuring that everyone is entitled to a healthy future. We must strengthen Medicare and Medicaid so generations to come have the same advantages as seniors do today.
