Absolutely fabulous!!!!!!
Keep up the good work. The Republicans in office have made monkeys out of us and now they’ll have to live with the consequences.

Funny how doggedly the Republicans can hang onto big money interests and be in our face about it, but forced to confront the real “people” about issues they run around in circles like squirrels in the middle of the highway.

Rick Santorum is Rick Sanborum. His breath is more vile than the gorilla’s. Also, the gorilla is smarter than he is. Ricky and Georgie make perfect bedfellows. They are both idiots. Witness Bush’s admission at the “newsconference” that Iraq does not have any connection to 9/11. Hiding behind cardboard posters seems like a metaphor for Ricky’s campaign. Perhaps he could stimulate his base by calling the resistance fighters in Iraq “sand niggers” like my brother does.

Privatizing Social Security is all about making fortunes for Bush’s business buddies; it has nothing to do with the needs of America’s elderly. The greed of many rich Americans (not all) is amazing—how many mansions, yachts, and limousines can each one use?

Time to go Rick-O. You and that other nut job need to find out who you are really supposted to be representing. Not big business, but we the people!

It would be nice to have government by the people and for the people, not for the representatives that have been bought and paid for by special interests.
Leslie David in Reston, VA | Thursday, August 24 at 12:40 PM
George Bush & Rick Santorum are cut from the same cloth. They both think that our government is a cash cow that can be manipulated for the benefit of their friends who are all members of the big business community. The average citizen who asks for, or more importantly NEEDS the government to speak up for his interests is regarded by these two spoilers as the “sucker” who lets them get away with their despicable actions. If it doesn’t change through the ballot box, I’m afraid it might change through less democratic methods and that would be a shame.

Great work!!!! The Republicans need to know that we the people are not stupid. We know what they have been doing!!! It’s all about keeping the rich happy… Bush and his adminstration need to be impeached!!! It’s that simple. They have ruined the country. When will Bush and his cronies finally admit that they lied about WMD, the economy, social security and just about everything else. Enough is enough!!!

Privatized Socoal Security would provide the same kind of windfall and the same loss for the Social Security recipient and increased costs for the treasury that the Social Security drug benefit bill oes - benefits for pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies at much higher costs to our treasury than similar benefits run by the government through the VA!
The main reason - it is illegal for Social Security to negotiate drug prices with the pharmaceutical companies for volume purchases like the VA does. So, our treasury winds up paying two to four times the cost that the VA does for the same prescriptions! What a scam!!!!
What that means to those covered is that insurance premiums and copays are much, much higher and coverage is far worse!!!!!
Don’t believe these Repugnicantican clowns. Any changes line their pockets and those of the companies for which they are pawns.

Unfortunate but true…this is the best way to get people’s attention. I’m delighted…I hope the gorillas do a nationwide tour!!
As for Mr. Rick…He ain’t no Bogart.

It should be no surprise to us that Rick Santorum did this. From everything that I’ve read about this idiot homophobe, he sounds like the ultimate embarrassment. What would Benjamin Franklin think if he saw this ignoramus representing his state?
Anyway, we can just hope to get him out come November. Anyone who shows a piece of paper on national TV and claims that it’s a classified document “proving” one of his crackpot points is not someone whom we want in Washington.

A disgusting display but unfortunately it has become the norm. Whether it is to suppress a question on an important issue, or plaster a derogatory label on a person who dares have a differing opinion, Santorum and the Bush Administration are leaders of the rat pack. Fortunately, people like yourselves are waking up to the true threat that they represent to democracy, and the American ideal of free thought, free speech, and independence. We have the power to vote them out! Let’s use it!
terry dougherty in langhorne, pa | Thursday, August 24 at 02:24 PM
Good Work!!! Keep it going against all these criminal Republicans. They are nothing but common THUGS.
Judy Taylor in Portland, OR | Thursday, August 24 at 02:44 PM
Gorillas are good! We should have them everywhere that government apprpriations are made!! They should ask why billions are given to billionaires, while it has been years since there was a minimum wage increase.
They should ask why fighter planes now cost billions; why the Pentagon budget is half of our available discretinary fund (1/2!)
The gorrilas should ask why this mar has already cost more than World War II.
So many questions, so few gorrilas.

Just curious, what is AU proposing to ensure that Social Security is sound for future generations and doesn’t squeeze out funding for education and other investments in our future?

WITH SO MANY PEOPLE WANTING CHANGE COME NOVEMBER, WILL SOMEBODY TELL ME WHAT THE DEMOCRATS ARE DOING TO GET RID OF THE ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINES? WITH HACKERS, VOTES LOST, AND NO ACCOUNTING FOR PEOPLES VOTES WHO WANT CHANGE. HOW IS THIS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN????
carol hayward in hudson, new hampshire | Thursday, August 24 at 07:29 PM
I think the gorilla act is terrific and I hope it follows all politicians who want to privatize social security. We do need a complete change of congress this November but I don’t think we will have that UNLESS the voting machines are “truthful”, there is a paper trail, and every voter has the opportunity to vote the way they intend.
Mary Felkins in Orting, Wa | Thursday, August 24 at 07:55 PM
Rick Santorum, the rest of the Republican congress and senate, and the Bush administration are selling everything in this country for the profit of the very wealthy. The only thing that they are interested in is to further enrich the wealthy so that there will be more donations for reelection and more perks, such as ski and golf trips, dinners, and lucrative jobs (ie: as lobbyists) after our elected officials leave their present employ.
They have sold out to what President Eisenhower called the “military industrial complex” so that companies like Haliburtin can make billions in profits. They are selling our ports, airfields, and manufacture of military hardware and uniforms to the highest overseas bidder. And now they would like to sell our Social Security to the multi-millionaire investment community. Their actions are so overtly for profit and yet the voters have allowed them to continue in their greedy actions. It is time that we tell all our representatives that they were elected to represent those that elected them. Let’s throw the bums out.
The surest way to make Social Security work for the people is to put our congress and senate under Social Security. See how fast it changes for all our benefits then.

As a resident of Virginia, it’s nice to have three senators. But I don’t really like any of them, not John Warner, George Allen less so, and Rick Santorum the least. And since Santorum pretends to be representing PA, I cannot even vote against him. Not that it would matter. With the new voting machines we have, I have no idea if my vote is really counted the way I cast it. But that is another issue. 879 days and counting!
Lyle Sanders in Virginia Beach, VA | Thursday, August 24 at 10:59 PM
Our lame duck president and lame congress, controlled by the Republicans, are systematically ruining any hopes of a better life if you happen to earn less than $200,000 per year. If these gangsters aren’t brought to justice, our country will soon be headed into a virtually irreversible tailspin, knocking us from our perch at the top of the heap. The only way to escape this
blatant misuse of power and money is to elect government officials who are willing to serve the people rather than the giant corporations. We need those who would open themselves up to
intense scrutiny by the people, rather than the shady, underhanded, and self-serving politicians who hide their true beliefs under the veil of
Christianity. Never before has there been such a corrupt administration, at least in America. Has someone been taking lessons from Castro? Hitler?
Hussein?

Go Gorilla! We need you to spread the word about Santorum and his cronies, they represent a brainwashed, misled group who can’t see the forest for the trees! I am amazed that anyone in this state would continue to support a party that is trying to turn our country into another third world country, all they represent are war and cutting benefits for the elderly, poor and soon to be poor middleclass. Keep up the good work, bring it on in November!

Yes, Democrates have been decieved. NOT by Bush but by your own party. A women’s right to choose…created by a women who wanted to eliminate “overpopulation” so why not just lie and tell the people that it’s your right to kill a baby because it’s “your body”. What ever is convenient for you even if it means killing a human being. Oh yeah, wasn’t it Bill Clinton who said “I didn’t inhale”? and “I never had sexual relations with that women”? LOL…no further comment on those. All the dems want to do is take the money I earn and give it to their gay friends, abortionists, and socialists programs. Hands off my money people. Your greedy, arrogant, misimformed and deceptive. Your mouths spew hatred and your deep in hippocracy. STOP destroying our country.
Bill Clinton in whoknows | Tuesday, August 29 at 11:40 PM
Senator Santorum is as deceitful and corrupt as they come. He spreads mis-information, lies and is a political monger. Happy to toe the Republican lines as he fills his personal bank account along with his campaign re-election fund. He started his dirty negative TV campaign here in Pittsburgh against Dem. Casey over two weeks ago. Dem. Casey will most likely take western & central Pa, But I fear his down fall will be lack of $$$ to get his message out to eastern Pa and get the needed votes in PHL where most election are won or lost in this State. I HOPE I AM WRONG and Casey Sends Santorum packing.
PEACE: JP

You liberals are all alike. Spread your lies, bitch and moan, and offer no constructive solutions. You people are what is wrong with this country.
Carl in Elizabeth City, NC | Friday, September 08 at 12:36 PM
For a group that is “non-partisan” it sure is funny how just about all the content on their website is aimed only at Republicans when in fact both sides of congress are guilty of blatant acts of fraud and abuse. Until we recognize that major changes need to be made to our electoral system this stupid attitude of “Republicans are to blame for all the woes in the U.S.” and that “Democrats will save us all” we are doomed for eternity. Wake up people and pull your heads out of your backsides. There’s more at fault here then just Republicans. And all the whining in the world isn’t going to change a think unless you get off your butt and do something other then complaining.
