show me where Medicaid is not supporting the needs of low income children? I fall into the income catagory of the proposed plan and I think it is a “handout” I do not need and nor does anyone else that earns middle income salary. If you have a job without heathcare coverage then you need to purchase it independantly…the government is NOT the answer for every problem we have…take some personal responsibility.

Shame on you for your misleading ad about Virgil Goode now playing in Southwest Virginia. While Virgil Goode does not represent me, he does my neighboring county. There is so much in the vetoed bills that you do not mention. I have encouraged my senators and congressman to vote with Pres. Bush because of the pork attached to the aforementioned bills. Paying for people making at least $70,000/year as well as for illegal immigrants and 25 year old “children” is not my idea of a fair bill. I used to work in the healthcare field and never saw a person turned away from the hospital because they did not have insurance. Hospitals are mandated to care for everyone regardless of insurance. I personally took care of a homeless man who was found in a park and required open heart surgery. He received the same care as a paying patient and the hospital paid for the surgery. Get all the facts to the people and then you could be taken seriously. Your unabashed bias turns many of us against your organization.

This plan for “poor” and “under-privledged” will end up covering some of the same people that are considered wealthy when it comes to the alternative Minimum Tax. The funds currently available are not even being used, why expand the program?  Maybe to purchase votes?  It’s another political trick to purchase a voting block by making people think they deserve more!
