Wear the Buttons

For seven years, President Bush's allies in Congress helped push forward his failed Conservative agenda. This week, Americans United for Change began delivering "I’m a Bush Republican" buttons to all of the Republicans in the House and Senate today in advance of Bush’s Final State of the Union Address on Monday with the message: "your votes helped build his legacy; you should show your support for him by proudly declaring that you’re a Bush Republican."
On Monday, as cameras scan the House Chamber during the State of the Union Address, we’ll see how many Republicans – those who have voted for Bush’s policies on Iraq, the economy, energy and health care – are willing to put their lapels where there votes have been and wear a button with this simple message: "I’m a Bush Republican."

The first time I have heard of Americans United was in an MSNBC story. I am not a republican, but I find it despicable that all your organization cares about is a petty campaign against one person. Grow up and spend your money on doing some good. People like Mr. Woodhouse are the problem with America - all they do is whine, they never do anything positive. Your anti-Bush funds could save tens of thousands of people in Arica, but the only thing you care about is a silly name-calling campaign.

I realize sir that you have good intentions and are quite aware of the need to help those who are less fortunate. However, would you consider the idea that one of the objectives of this organization is to inform people that a change might slow down the continued depleation of our national funds, the increasing national debt, and the funneling of these funds to special interests projects that are supposed to rebuild Iraq? Maybe with any change in office, money that could be saved could then be sent to help Africa.
