Throw Bush’s Legacy into the River
Does the daily news of record high gas prices make you want to throw your TV out the window? How 'bout tossing the $140 plus oil barrel itself?
Now we have our chance. The Bush Legacy Bus will be celebrating the 4th of July in Bangor, Maine, where we have the exciting opportunity to toss out some of Bush's garbage - and by garbage, we mean Bush's legacy.
Our partners at the Bangor Central Labor Council (AFL-CIO) have offered to let us use their giant catapult to send something that represents the Bush Legacy flying into the Penobscot River.
Since we're pretty sure the secret service would never let us catapult President Bush into the river, we're looking for your ideas on what to toss.
We've been kicking around a bunch of ideas that represent different aspects of Bush and his terrible legacy:
- Monopoly money - what Bush thinks money for Iraq is
- Sandbags - something Bush didn't send to New Orleans before Katrina hit
- Empty oil cans - because we're still upset about those gas prices
Please keep in mind that we want to be as eco-friendly as possible. We're trying to think of something that's either natural or something we can easily retrieve.
We need your input - What symbol of Bush's Legacy would you like to see go flying? Click here to submit your ideas, or post them in the comments.

How about gathering all the stale breadloafs in town, and using icing, write the names of each soldier’s life lost in the war on a loaf - tossing each “life” into the river as Bush TOSSED so many lives away in the war - where the fish can consume the bread, so at least there’s some tiny benefit…ha. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EujCtvSbcpQ
