USA Today: Liberal group wants MLB to cut conservative Glenn Beck
USA Today - October 13, 2011
The liberal group Americans United for Change is launching a campaign to force Major League Baseball to cut its business ties with conservative commentator Glenn Beck, according to the Huffington Post.
Beck's new online network GBTV teamed with MLB Advanced Media, MLB's interactive arm, earlier this year. The former Fox News TV pundit's experimental media site charges subscribers $9.95 a month or $99.95 per year.
Representatives from MLB Advanced Media could not be reached for comment. Josh Raffel, a spokesman for GBTV, declined to comment.
Americans United for Change launched a Web site Thursday, "Strike Out Beck," asking viewers to sign a petition demanding MLB sever ties with him.
