Last month, a bipartisan coalition of 63 Senators passed S. 5, a bill that would allow federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. The House and Senate are about to send the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act over to the White House, and just like last year, President Bush has vowed to veto the bill. But Senate Democrats are just one vote shy from the two-thirds majority needed to override President Bush's veto. Senator John Sununu is that vote. Last week Americans United for Change launched a new ad campaign, urging Senator Sununu to cast the deciding vote for federally funded stem cell research.
