Republicans Think The Unemployed Are Lazy

Republicans across the country are calling the unemployed lazy. They say that unemployment insurance discourages people from looking for work! It would almost be funny if it werenÂ’t so shockingly removed from the reality of the situation.

There are five unemployed for every job opening, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research. There are simply not enough jobs available for every hardworking American. But while Democrats want to help, Republicans just want to say no.

From Tea Party candidates like Sharron Angle, who called the unemployed "spoiled," to U.S. Senator Richard Burr, Republicans from every region and in every position are making these claims! Is this who we want controlling Congress?

We canÂ’t let Republicans off the hook for this behavior. Tell them how you feel!

Let's call it the "Let Them Eat Want Ads" Caucus -- those candidates and public officials who argue that unemployment benefits are problematic because they discourage people from seeking jobs.
