Washington DC– Progressive issue-advocacy group Americans United for Change today announced a new television ad campaign airing throughout Michigan’s 7th Congressional District spotlighting U.S. Rep. Mark Schauer’s work in Congress to create jobs and hold down health care costs for Michigan families.  See script below for the ad titled “For Us,” which is airing through Saturday on broadcast television in Lansing and on cable in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Coldwater, Taylor, Ann Arbor, Whitmore, Charter, and Monroe – with $100,000 behind the effort, a saturation level buy.

Tom McMahon, acting Executive Director, Americans United for Change:“Congressman Schauer is under siege from special interests that are saturating the airwaves with misinformation, desperately trying to protect the status quo for the Wall Street banks that crashed our economyand the health insurance companies that see nothing wrong with raising premiums four times faster than wages and dropping people when they get sick. Today we’re sending a message to Wall Street and Big Insurance that we’re not going to let them push around lawmakers like Mark Schauer who put their constituents first.  Whether it was helping pass the President’s economic recovery act that has since created up to 2.1 million jobs, or supporting comprehensive financial regulatory reform and health insurance reform that will finally hold Wall Street and Big Insurance accountable, Mark Schauer has shown that there’s only one interest group he’s carrying the water for: Michigan families.”
